Privacy Policy
Last updated and effective: October 23, 2026The short version
- We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location.
- Your progress, currencies and purchases are saved on your device. The only thing also kept in your own iCloud account is your Monthly Card status. We do not run a game server that stores them.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. Google receives some device and usage data to serve and measure those ads (details below).
- Ads are only personalized if you allow it, through Apple's tracking prompt and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form.
- The game uses Unity Analytics to see how it is played. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it only runs if you agree in Google's consent form. Anywhere, you can turn it off in the game's Settings with SHARE GAMEPLAY ANALYTICS (details below).
- Apple handles every payment. We never see your card or billing details.
Information the game keeps on your device
ZombieMage stores the following on your device so the game works. None of it is sent to us, apart from the analytics events described under “Analytics and crash reports”:
- Game progress: chapters, levels, mages, upgrades, settings, energy and in-game currencies.
- A record of the purchases the game has already delivered, so the same purchase is never applied twice.
- Which hidden levels you have unlocked.
- A security key derived from your device's app-vendor identifier, used only to detect tampering with the save file. It never leaves your device.
Deleting the app deletes this data. We cannot recover it, because we never had a copy.
Monthly Card and iCloud. If you buy the Monthly Card, its start and end dates and the days you have claimed are also saved in your own iCloud account (Apple’s iCloud key-value storage), so an active card carries over after a reinstall and to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Nothing else syncs through iCloud. Apple stores this copy; we cannot see it.
Game settings download. The game may download game settings (such as event dates and offer switches) from our server; this sends your IP address and app version (plus the system version every web request carries) and nothing else.
Advertising: Google AdMob
ZombieMage is free to play and is supported partly by ads. The ads come from Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. Ads appear in two ways:
- Rewarded ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for a reward (for example a revive, double gold, free gems or an energy refill).
- Ads between runs, shown occasionally after a run you win. Buying "Remove Ads" turns these off.
When an ad is requested, Google's software in the game collects information such as:
- your IP address, which Google may use to estimate your general location (city or region, not your precise location);
- device identifiers, including Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking;
- information about the ads you see and tap, and how you interact with the app;
- crash and performance information about the ad software.
Google uses this to show ads, measure them, limit how often you see the same ad, and prevent fraud. We do not give Google your name or any account, because the game has none. Google's use of this information is governed by Google's own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Personalized and non-personalized ads
Apple's tracking prompt (App Tracking Transparency). After your first run, iOS asks whether ZombieMage may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Google may use your IDFA to show more relevant ads. If you decline, the game works exactly the same: you still see ads, but without the IDFA. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. If you are in one of these regions, Google's consent form (the User Messaging Platform) appears before any ad is shown. It lets you accept or refuse personalized advertising and related processing. Ads are only requested once the consent rules allow it. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (13 to 16, depending on the country), ask a parent or guardian before agreeing to the consent form.
To change your consent choice later, open the game’s Settings, go to the Privacy tab and tap MANAGE AD CONSENT. This option appears in regions where it applies. You can also delete and reinstall the game so the form asks again, or contact us and we will help.
In-app purchases
ZombieMage offers optional in-app purchases. All of them are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card number, billing address or Apple Account details; Apple handles them under the Apple Privacy Policy. Your device confirms each purchase with Apple and then delivers the item. We do not send your purchases to our own server, and we do not keep your purchase history ourselves. When analytics is on (see below), the game's analytics service may record that a purchase happened, with the product, price and currency.
Analytics and crash reports
ZombieMage uses Unity Analytics, provided by Unity Technologies, to understand how the game is played and to improve it. It starts only after the game’s consent step has finished. Where Google’s consent form is required (such as in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), it runs only if you agree there, and it stops if you later withdraw that consent through MANAGE AD CONSENT. In other regions it is on by default, and you can turn it off at any time: open the game’s Settings, go to the Privacy tab and switch off SHARE GAMEPLAY ANALYTICS. Collection stops right away, and the choice is saved on your device (deleting the game resets it to on). The same switch also works in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, on top of your consent-form choice. Apple’s tracking prompt does not turn it on or off, because Unity Analytics is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
While it is on, Unity Analytics receives:
- a random identifier for this installation of the game (not your name, email or Apple Account);
- the game version, device model and operating system version;
- gameplay and session events, such as starting a session, which level and mage you played, upgrades chosen, boss results and features used;
- purchase and ad events, such as the product bought with its price and currency, ads shown, how long ads took to load and the ad revenue they earned;
- the result of the consent choices, including your answer to Apple’s tracking prompt, so we can count how many players allow each option.
This information is linked to that random installation identifier so we can see how a single game session flows. We do not use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Unity’s handling is described in the Unity Privacy Policy.
ZombieMage does not run its own crash-reporting service.
- If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage totals. Apple controls this, and you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
- Google AdMob collects crash and performance data about its own ad software, as described above.
If we add another analytics or crash-reporting service in a future update, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy details before that update ships.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for money. The only third parties that receive data from the game are:
- Google (AdMob and its consent form), for advertising as described above.
- Unity Technologies (Unity Analytics), for game analytics as described above (where consent is required, only with your consent).
- Apple, for purchases, the tracking prompt and, if you opted in, app analytics.
We may disclose information if the law requires it. As the game keeps almost nothing about you, there is very little we could disclose.
How long data is kept
- Data on your device stays until you delete the app.
- Data held by Google, Unity or Apple is kept according to their own policies, linked above. For example, Google describes its advertising data retention in its privacy policy.
- Emails you send us are kept only as long as we need to answer you and to keep a record of requests, and then deleted.
Children
ZombieMage is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not ask for age, name or contact details. The game is not in the App Store's Kids category.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help, including asking Google to delete advertising data where possible. Parents can also limit ad tracking with iOS Screen Time and the Tracking setting.
US state privacy notice
For residents of California and other US states with similar laws, these are the categories of personal information collected through ZombieMage and where they come from:
- Identifiers: a random installation ID, device identifiers used by Google’s ad software, and Apple’s advertising identifier only after you allow tracking. Source: your device, through the Unity Analytics and Google AdMob software in the game.
- Internet or app activity (usage data): gameplay and session events, and the ads you see and tap. Source: the same software.
- Coarse location: your general region, estimated from your IP address. Not your precise location. Source: your internet connection.
- Purchase history: which item was bought, with its price and currency. Not your card or billing details. Source: the game’s analytics; held by Unity, not by us.
- Diagnostics: ad load times, error events, and crash and performance data about Google’s ad software. Source: the same software.
Use: to show and measure ads, for analytics, and for game functionality. Retention: as long as needed for these purposes or as required by our providers’ policies. We do not sell personal information, and we do not collect sensitive personal information. If you allow Apple’s tracking prompt, identifiers and advertising data used by Google to personalize ads may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Opting out of ads personalization: turn off tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and, where shown, use MANAGE AD CONSENT in the game’s Settings. For other requests, email [email protected].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to access it, to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.
- California and other US states (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws). We do not sell personal information. Allowing Apple's tracking prompt may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out at any time by turning off tracking for ZombieMage in iOS Settings, or by turning off "Allow Apps to Request to Track". We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR). Personalized advertising relies on your consent, collected by Google's consent form. Non-personalized ads rely on our legitimate interest in funding a free game. You can withdraw consent at any time as described above, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Because we hold no account and no copy of your game data, most requests are answered by these steps:
- Delete your game data: deleting ZombieMage removes the game data stored on your device. The Monthly Card dates saved in your iCloud account (see above) are not removed by deleting the app.
- Analytics already sent to Unity: deleting the app does not remove it. It is tied to a random installation ID, not to your name or any account, and Unity keeps it under its own retention policy. To ask for deletion, email [email protected] describing your request (for example, roughly when you played and on which device), and we will pass it to Unity. Because the ID is random and not shown in the game, we may not be able to match a specific record.
- Stop analytics: switch off SHARE GAMEPLAY ANALYTICS in the game’s Settings → Privacy tab, in any region. Where it appears, withdrawing consent through MANAGE AD CONSENT also stops new analytics collection.
- Stop ad tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Reset your advertising identifier's link to past activity: turn tracking off, which gives apps an all-zero identifier.
- Data held by Google: see My Ad Center and Google's privacy policy.
For any other request, email us. We will reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires it.
Security
Game data is stored in the app's private storage on your device and protected by a tamper check. Purchases are verified with Apple on your device. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but because we keep no central copy of your data, there is no ZombieMage database of player information to breach.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts collecting something new, we will update this page and the App Store privacy details before that version is released. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
